Yoga and breathwork for me is about letting go and connecting back to myself. A way to step away from the external noise and distraction and turn inwards - it's a reset for my body and more important, my mind.

It wasn't until I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease that I really noticed what practicing yoga and breathwork did for me. I felt myself turning to these healing modalities more regularly and it became a part of my every day life quite quickly.

2 years into my journey with a chronic illness, I missed the person who I used to be, the person who I used to love being. I became really anxious due to my constant ill health, lost all my confidence and still hadn't fully accepted my illness. I was referred to a therapist and I went through a course of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help me to find ways to accept and move forward with my condition and to embrace the person that I had become.

After CBT something changed in my mind and I became really interested in the concept of mindfulness, wellbeing and self care. I wanted to give my body and mind the best possible chance of staying as healthy and strong as possible without just relying on my medication to do this for me, which also helps me to keep a level of control over my condition. Along with eating the right things, avoiding ingrained bad habits and making the right choices for my physical and mental health I practice yoga and breathwork regularly.
Whilst taking the time to connect back to my own body and my mind, I love to share the practice of yoga and breathwork with as many people as I can. I am so passionate about helping others to better their own physical and mental health.
